These are only a sample and not intended to cover the entire list of offenses or offense levels for the charged offense.

  1. First Degree Murder
    * Base offense level 43
  2. Second Degree Murder
    * Base offense level 38
  3. Voluntary Manslaughter
    * Base offense level 29
  4. Involuntary Manslaughter
    * Base offense level 29
  1. Assault with Intent to Commit Murder: Attempted murder
    * Base offense level 33 if first degree murder
    * Base offense level 27 if not first
  2. Aggravated Assualt
    * Base offense level 14
  3. Minor Assualt
    * Base offense level 7 if dangerous weapon
  1. Obstructing or Impeding Officers
    * Base offense level 10
  2. Criminal Sexual Abuse or Attempt
    * Base offense level 30
  3. Criminal Sexual Abuse of a Ward or Attempt
    * Base offense level 12
  4. Abusive Sexual Contact or Attempt
    * Base offense level is 20
  1. Kidnapping, Abduction or Restraint against one’s Will

There are many economic offenses in the federal system. A short list includes theft; embezzlement; fraud and deceit; larceny, altered or counterfeit instruments; identity theft; extortion; blackmail; extortion.

  • Insider trading offenses
    Base offense level is 8, but increase with the amount of money
  • Burglary and Trespass of a Residence
    Base offense level is 17 for residence and 12 for a structure
  • Bribery in Procurement of a Bank Loan or Commercial Bribery
    Base offense level 8
  • Counterfeiting and Infringement on Copyright or Trademark
    Base Offense level is 9 and shall increase or decrease by the amount of money involved
  • Payments to Obtain Public Office
    Base offense level is 8.
